A few weeks back Straat op Tilt took place in the center of Tilburg. Tilt is a literary platform that is eager to bring literature, stories, and encounters to the streets. This year Straat op Tilt was a collaboration with Ateliers Tilburg. Tilt chose 5 young authors who are at the center of the literary field and linked them to leading and versatile artists who have a studio in Tilburg. They questioned: What happens when you put two makers from different disciplines together in one studio with the aim of disseminating literature?
For this occasion, I collaborated with Maureen Ghazal and we made a collective performance that took place in the LocHal Public Library of Tilburg. The starting point for the performance was the question of what it means to be home. Is it a feeling you carry along or is it a place? Is it about objects you surround yourself with or is it a collection of habitual actions?
Straat op Tilt took place on the 17th of March 2023 in different locations in the center of Tilburg. Participating Writers and Artists were: Maureen Ghazal, Corinne Heyrman, Elianne van Elderen, Joshua Snijders and Steff Geelen, Frans Roets, Suzan Stouthart, Corné van de Schoor, Eva Hoonhout, and Ema Vanekova.
